Greetings from the planners, hosts, and sponsors of the 2017 festival,

We are now about eight weeks away from the event and need to gather information about each ensemble so that we can complete our planning process.
Pre-Festival Check List
For the concert program (due Friday, January 27, 2017)
Prior to the festival (by February 15th)
The Meridian Community Band will be offering fruit, pastry, sandwiches, and beverages throughout the day and will be using your responses as a planning tool.
This does not have to be exact. We understand that there are often last-minute changes and adjustments. Any help you can provide in this area will aid our stage crew in getting your band set up on stage as quickly as possible.
Tips and Guidelines for participating bands
It is our goal to be accommodating and helpful in making your presentation at the Red Cedar Festival both enjoyable and stress free. With this in mind we, offer the following guidelines and suggestions:
On the day of the festival
These will be returned to you at the end of your clinic. Photo copied scores are acceptable for the clinicians’ use.
Scripts should be concise so that festival events may be kept on schedule.

Everyone likes to play before a large audience. Your attendance will be a great morale booster. It is also an opportunity to expand your musical horizons.

Driving directions: Please use an on-line mapping service such as Mapquest or Google maps for specific driving instructions.
General information: Okemos High School is located at 2800 E Jolly Rd in Okemos, MI., 48864. It is approximately 0.5 miles north and 1.2 miles west of Exit #110 (Okemos Road) on Interstate 96.
Ample parking is available in the east main parking lot. For persons with mobility issues, a small parking lot on the south side of the building will be available for use.
Each band is assigned a “home room” in which to store their coats and instrument cases. The home rooms will be locked while the band is in the warm-up, performance, and post-concert clinic. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items. Please lock any valuables in your car.
Greeters will meet you at the entrance and will provide you with schedules, directions, and other assistance.
Band Guides will escort each band through its schedules cycle of events.
Percussionists make want to consider bringing a cart or dolly to transport their equipment from the parking lot to the staging area.
Master Classes for various instruments and topics will be presented throughout the day. Information will be posted on the Red Cedar Festival website (www.redcedarfestival.org).
